Sacred Passage: Honoring the Journey at
Life’s End
San Francisco Bay Area Network for End-of-Life Care (SFEOL)—The Bay Area’s diverse group of professionals and volunteers working to improve end-of-life care for individuals—announces a benefit performance by Gary Malkin & Friends.
In response to the vital need to provide education and explore difficult end-of-life issues with the community, San Francisco Bay Area Network for End-of-Life Care reaches out to the Bay Area with panels of experts, support of legislative action, and creative performance. “For many, simply opening up a conversation about end-of-life issues is the hardest step” states San Francisco Bay Area Network for End-of-Life Care’s Erin Henke. “One of the ways we assist people to open a dialogue about this important subject is through an experience of music, poetry and dance.” Henke continues, “Gary Malkin & Friends embody that effort to bring people together to dialogue about the journey we will all ultimately experience.”
Sacred Passage: Honoring the Journey at Life’s End features performances by Gary Malkin, an Emmy award-winning composer, producer, singer and recording artist. Malkin created the acclaimed Graceful Passages Book and CD set in response to the challenging questions about our mortality. It is the first of a planned series to be distributed by New World Library. Friends of Gary Malkin include Kim Rosen, performing poetry to Malkin’s improvised piano; Pollyanna Bush, a well-known Bay Area singer/songwriter; Suzanne Grace, a dancer who will choreograph and perform to a piece from Graceful Passages, and, Laurinda Gilmore-Graves, an inspirational speaker on living fully as an elder.
The Sacred Passage: Honoring the Journey at Life’s End performance will be Sunday October 24th at the Main Post Chapel in the Presidio of San Francisco from 4PM to 6PM. The program cost $25 in advance and $30 at the door. A reception will follow the performance. For advance tickets contact Erin Henke, at 415-927-6050.
