Working with Foster and Kimberly Gamble on “Thrive” movie

This photo was taken when Thrive co producers Foster and Kimberly Gamble were presenting at the Architects of the New Paradigm Conference, which took place in early 2016 in Marin County. I was, as I have always been, deeply moved by their commitment to saying and doing what they believe is true, no matter what flap they may receive from others who don’t agree with them. Their commitment to be a stand for whatever is theirs to do to create a world where everyone can thrive is huge. And it has set a bar for how I wish to be in the world as well.

I first met Foster and Kimberly sometime in 2008, when they were considering me as the composer for their film Thrive: What On Earth Will It Take?, a global documentary phenomenon released in 2011 that has, at this point, received a confirmation of no less than 65 Million viewings throughout the world in 28 languages! They originally shared with me way back then that their concept was to create a film that could serve as a ‘trailer to a movement”. Sure enough, that’s exactly what they’ve done, with flying colors.

Since the film’s release, I’ve recommended the film to EVERYONE, not because I promote every point the film claims, fact checked meticulously and all. It’s because Foster and Kimberly represent a fire, a passion, and an integrity that shows what it looks like when one decides to take responsibility to create a world that thrives. If each of us put in even a fraction of the “skin in the game” they’ve invested , the world would be a very different place.

Since the film’s release, they’ve been sharing regular insights, innovations, ideas, and important breakthrough technologies through their astonishing website, newsletters, and presentations since the films release. Many people don’t know that they’ve been researching and vetting innovative projects, technologies, and visionaries in the world’s many sectors of society. It is their intention to be ready to serve as liaisons, stewards, and referral sources to fund new paradigm modalities that can serve as benevolent disruptors,  creating a more thriving world in all areas of our lives. (Many people mistakenly believe they’re resourced enough to be the funder for these projects- but the money needed to test and bring to market these technologies is way beyond the scope of any individual funder, and they’ve played their part by investing in all the things they’ve done thus far, as represented by the film and the website.)
 [dt_gap height=”10″ /]
As it happens, I’ve been stewarding a powerful vision since the 2001 release of Graceful Passages  that I’ve been calling the Wisdom of the World Project, dreamed up with my former creative partner, filmmaker and musician Michael Stillwater. And I’m proud to say that Foster and Kimberly recognize its merit enough to consider it one of the projects they would support and recommend for implementation, to contribute to a more thriving world for all. In this new blog sphere, I would love to share more extensively about the Wisdom of the World vision, and why I believe it has merit, why I believe it’s an idea whose time has come. But that will be shared at another time. For now, I want to celebrate the likes of my allies, friends, and mentors, Foster and Kimberly Gamble, who show me what it looks like to take responsibility for one’s gifts and talents, and commit to deliver it in service to a more thriving world. May we all learn how to contribute to life to such a powerful degree!
